A. Keith Inman, was born in Elizabethtown, Ky. In 1978 he received a bachelor of arts degree in biology from the University of Louisville. Inman began his career at UofL in 1978 as the director of national alumni clubs in the Alumni Association.

In 1980 he returned to Elizabethtown to work in his family's insurance business. In 1983 Inman rejoined UofL as the athletic department's assistant ticket manager. By 1985 he was promoted to assistant executive director of the Cardinal Athletic Fund and in 1986 became executive director.

In 1992 Inman moved to the University of Maryland as the associate athletic director for advancement. He was responsible for ticket sales, sports information and fundraising. Then in 1995 Inman moved to Cary, N.C., to take on the position of executive director and president of the Jim Valvano Foundation for Cancer Research, created by ESPN and Jim Valvano.

Inman returned to Louisville in 1998 as the assistant vice president of the University of Louisville Health Science Center Development Office. In this capacity he served as the chief development officer for the medical, nursing, dental and allied health schools.

Inman joined Jewish Hospital and St. Mary's HealthCare, formerly Jewish Hospital HealthCare Services, in July 1999 as the executive director of the Jewish Hospital Foundation and vice president of JHSMH. During 2004 and 2005, Inman added responsibility as interim administrative director of the Cardiovascular Innovation Institute. This partnership generated more than $52 million in support from federal, state, UofL, Jewish Hospital and local funding sources.

In 2005 Inman was promoted to senior vice president of external relations and executive director for the Jewish Hospital & St. Mary's HealthCare Foundation. In this role, Inman was responsible for public relations, advertising, community relations and the foundation.

In 2006 Inman returned to the University of Louisville as vice president for university advancement. He oversees development, alumni, governmental relations, communications and marketing, and advancement services.

Inman is married to the former Susan Elpers. They have two sons, Gary and James.
