Guidelines for naming files
I would like to set a standard for the naming of files. I get too many files with the same name and this makes it difficult to process your homework and to give you credit for your assignment.
Please, use the following format:
- Name your file starting with your last name followed by the and assignment name
- Do not add blank spaces to make it easier for the file managers to handle your file. Use [shift dash (_)] instead.
- Do not use uppercase characters (Use medina instead of Medina)
So, if I were turning in a web page on Hispanics in the US, I would name my file:
medina_hispanic_web_page
- For a tarea named "narración", I would name my file:
medina_narracion_draft (for a first draft)
medina_narracion_revised (for a revised version)
- The same applies to graphic files:
Make sure the file extensions are in lowercase characters.
Use gif instead of GIF or jpg instead of JPG Ex. Flag.gif instead of flag.GIF
Use Spanish_flags.gif instead of Spanish Flag.GIF
- Make sure to submit all of your graphic files along with your web page.
Remember to sign your page by including your name and e-mail address at the top or the bottom of the page.
