Message from the Chairman
Kenneth Ramos, PhD
Our
ability to fight old and emerging diseases, and to solve the mysteries
of modern medicine, depends largely on a better understanding of
the biochemical and molecular bases of health and disease.
Major technological advances continue to fuel accelerated
growth in the fields of biochemistry and molecular biology. Molecular
investigations of the inner workings of the cell, the genes that
define biological networks, the proteins that regulate biological
function, and the metabolic pathways that determine biological susceptibility
now dominate the landscape of science.
The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
is committed to the development of preeminent biomedical research
and educational programs. In addition to outstanding faculty, the
Department enjoys major upgrades in physical facilities, state-of-the-art
equipment and centralized core facilities. Building on the UofL
tradition of excellence, the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular
Biology continues to grow in stature, recognition and visibility.
I invite you to explore the exciting opportunities
available at the University of Louisville School of Medicine and
the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. The door is
open…
