The Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology
and The Center for Genetics & Molecular Medicine
The University of Louisville

The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and the Center for Genetics and Molecular Medicine at the University of Louisville School of Medicine invite applications and nominations to fill the Preston Pope Joyes Endowed Chair at the rank of Professor. Candidates must have an established, nationally recognized, federally funded research program in statistical genetics, genetic epidemiology, gene-environment interactions or bioinformatics. Preference will be given to applicants whose expertise complements current strengths in environmental genetics, genetic epidemiology, gene regulation, chromatin structure, or nuclear receptor biology.

In addition to a competitive start-up package and customized laboratory space, the successful applicant will play a leadership role in recruiting up to four junior faculty for the purpose of enhancing research focus in functional genomics and bioinformatics. Numerous opportunities for interdisciplinary research collaborations are available through the Center for Genetics and Molecular Medicine, as well as through other research centers dealing with environmental health, embryonic development, aging, cancer, cardiovascular disease, and stem cell biology.

Applicants should send a letter outlining research interests, curriculum vitae, and the names of at least three individuals who can be contacted for letters of reference to: Preston Pope Joyes Search Committee, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, The University of Louisville School of Medicine, Louisville, KY 40292.
