Room 218A, Founders Union Building, Shelby Campus
The forum is free and open to the public.
The University of Louisville will give an update on its planned regional biosafety lab.
U of L received a $22 million grant from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases in September to build the Center for Predictive Medicine, a Level 3 regional biosafety lab geared to developing new vaccines to fight bioterrorism and emerging infectious diseases.
Construction of the lab on a 4.2-acre site at the northeast corner of Shelby Campus is scheduled to begin in March. Officials expect the facility to open in October 2008.
A panel of experts from U of L and the architectural consultant helping design the lab will be at the forum to discuss the project and to seek community input.
