‘Northern/Southern Exposure’ and
Trisha Hamilton-Cooper: Master’s Thesis
Oct. 19, 5–8 p.m.
Schneider Hall galleries, Belknap Campus
Admission is free and open to the public. Both exhibitions continue through Friday, Nov. 17. Hours are Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.–2 p.m.; and Sunday, 1–6 p.m.
“Northern/Southern Exposure” is an exchange with the University of Wisconsin. The “Northern Exposure” portion of a exhibition features artwork from the faculty of the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Hite faculty will exhibit their work as the “Southern Exposure” half of the exchange in the UW galleries in Menominee. The shows allow comparison of the varying approaches to current studio art practice and pedagogy among university faculty and a chance to see work by artists unfamiliar to each region.
Trisha Hamilton-Cooper will open her Master’s Thesis exhibition of paintings. Currently teaching at Eastern High School while completing her graduate degree, Hamilton-Cooper’s work deals with identity and transformation among her students.
