Want to bowl for a good cause? Knock down pins at the third annual Strike Against Cancer.
Teams will compete for the highest scores while raising money for the multidisciplinary breast cancer program at UofL’s James Graham Brown Cancer Center and the Kentucky Prostate Cancer Coalition.
In 2006 an estimated 213,000 women were diagnosed with breast cancer and 234,000 men were diagnosed with prostate cancer, according to the American Cancer Society.
Proceeds from the Strike Against Cancer provide hope for a cure to individuals battling these diseases through research, education, awareness, and screening programs offered by the James Graham Brown Cancer Center and the Kentucky Prostate Cancer Coalition, said Beth Hobson of the Brown Cancer Center Development Office.
“This event is different than your average black-tie affair,” she said. In addition to a corporate bowling challenge, there also are a silent auction, hors d’oeuvres and cocktails.
