Art, trolleys and Cards: First Friday Gallery Hop has a UofL twist
August 31st, 2007
First Friday Scavenger Hunt
Sept. 7, starting between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m.
Starts at the Cressman Center for Visual Arts, corner of First and Main streets.
The University of Louisville Alumni Association is hosting a scavenger hunt at the Sept. 7 First Friday Gallery Hop in downtown Louisville.
Participants are to collect one flyer from the five designated galleries to spell Cards. (Each gallery will have a flyer with one of the letters.) Anyone who collects all five letters can enter a drawing to receive four free Homecoming football and tailgating tickets.
Participants are to meet between 5:30-6:30 p.m. at UofL’s Cressman Center for Visual Arts on the corner of First and Main streets for refreshments and instructions. To be entered in the drawing, participants must turn in their flyers by 9 p.m. at Riverbend Winery, 10th and Market streets.
Most of the designated galleries have some connection to UofL, said Valerie French of the UofL Alumni Association. For example, Rouge Noir Gallery, 333 E. Market St., is run by the UofL Student Art League.
There are more than 25 galleries in downtown Louisville’s Art Zone that are open until 11 p.m. for the Gallery Hop, and many downtown restaurants welcome late diners. The Transit Authority of River City offers free trolleys along the Main, Market Street and Fourth Street corridors, which run every 15 minutes.
For more information and to RSVP, e-mail Valerie French.
