College of Business programs earn three national rankings
September 25th, 2007
Several University of Louisville College of Business programs have received rankings from leading magazines.
U.S. News & World Report ranked the undergraduate entrepreneurship program 17th in the nation, up from 19th last year. The U.S. News rankings, part of the magazine’s 2008 “America’s Best Colleges” list, appear only in the online subscriber edition.
In its September 2007 issue, Fortune Small Business magazine named UofL one of “America’s Best Colleges for Entrepreneurs” for its graduate entrepreneurship programs. Only 26 schools made the list, including Cornell University, Harvard University, Northwestern University, MIT, UCLA, University of Southern California and Wake Forest University.
The magazine cited the entrepreneurial IMBA program’s integrated team teaching method; the college’s joint MBA programs in engineering, law and accounting; and the leading research generated by the Ph.D. program in entrepreneurship as factors in its recognition.
The sales education program was named one of the nation’s top sales programs for 2007 by the University Sales Education Foundation. The college is one of only 27 schools to receive the honor.
The College of Business has earned other honors for its entrepreneurship program. For three straight years, U.S. News & World Report has ranked its undergraduate business program in the top 7 percent of all undergraduate business programs in the nation. A joint survey by Entrepreneur magazine and The Princeton Review placed the college’s graduate entrepreneurship program in the “Top 10 in the U.S. for Entrepreneurs” for 2007.
“We are delighted with the recent recognition our entrepreneurship and sales education programs in the College of Business have received from several leading publications,” said Charlie Moyer, College of Business dean. “These rankings validate the hard work by our faculty and staff that have created Kentucky’s finest business programs at UofL, and move us further toward our goal of being recognized among the finest public business schools in the nation.”
