James Ramsey meeting with Young Alumni

Greater Louisville Inc., selected Nucleus, UofL's Life Science and Innovation Center, to join a group of fast-growth companies in its High Impact Portfolio.

As evidence of this growth, Signature HealthCARE announced last month that it is moving to Louisville from its current home in West Palm Beach, Fla., in part, because of the opportunity to set up an International Center for Long-Term Care Innovation in conjunction with UofL's Nucleus project. Signature expects to employ about 120 people at its Louisville headquarters. Full details found here.

"UofL is committed to supporting innovative, entrepreneurial companies," said James Ramsey, UofL president. "These outstanding discoveries have an impact on the everyday lives of Kentuckians and people around the world. We are confident the same will happen as part of this multi-faceted partnership with Signature."

As part of on-going outreach efforts of engaging and reconnecting with recent graduates and young professionals, the Alumni Association is creating more social and networking programs and events with community and university leaders (see photo left). Sustainability Green Tip

Environmentally friendly actions don't have to be large to have an impact. Consistently reducing the amount of energy, water, and paper we use can make a huge difference, both to the environment and to our pocketbooks.

How much paper would you save over the course of a year, for instance, if you always ran double-sided copies? A small thing - but a big result!
